Just do it!

just-do-it

Motivation can be one of those things that make or break your fitness regime and goals and even your eating habits. I can be terrible when it comes to just doing something or getting on with something!

But I have started a little trick to get me more motivated and it’s starting to become a habit after a few weeks!

Lets say, there’s washing up that needs doing and you really can’t be bothered. What normally goes through your head? “I’ll do it in a minute”, “I’ll do it after doing…” and “I can’t be bothered right now” Do these ring a bell? I say these things all the time, and it ended up with lots of things not being done.

So, you know what? As soon as I say to myself “I’ll do it in a minute”, I get up and just do it! That phrase now acts as a trigger to get my butt into the kitchen and do that washing up, but do other things as well like tidying the living room, or sorting out the washing etc.

But this doesn’t just work around the house! You can use it for your health and fitness too.

For example, you go to a store and see some chocolate and think about getting yourself a nice big bar even though you are trying to cut down sweets. You’ll no doubt say to yourself “Oh, I’ll work it off later” or “I’ll be going to the gym tonight so I can have this”….STOP! As soon as you’ve said those words, walk out the store, or move to the fruit section and get yourself something healthy. It’s amazinfg how you can train yourself to do the healthier thing with this little trick!

It works for fitness too! When it’s time to go the gym or go for a walk, or even just do some yoga at home or put on that fitness DVD. You might get that little voice in your head saying “I don’t feel like it today” or “I can’t be bothered right now” or “I’ll do it tomorrow”…NOW put your shoes on immediately and get out that door to the gym or walk, or get your yoga mat or put that DVD in.

Don’t give these thoughts a moment to rest in your mind, otherwise you’ll agree with them and take the “easy way out”.

If you act on that thought straight away and just do it, you’ll start getting up and doing things automatically and get more motivation to do things!

Same Weight but Feeling Good

same-weight-but-feeling-good

Over the past few weeks, I haven’t actually been losing any weight. But I’m definitely slimming down and feeling fitter!

I’ve been rather ill recently, so not been able to go to the gym *sad face* but I can’t wait to get back into it. Now that I have new routines and exercises to try out, I get so excited to go to the gym! Even when I really feel like not going, I know that once I get there, I’ll enjoy my time there and feel much better for it by the end.
I admit, recently my eating habits haven’t been too healthy and I think that has slowed down my weight loss quite a bit too. So I need to keep a closer eye on what I’m eating whilst I can’t exercise and be sensible with my portions. I know it’s hard to do when you’re feeling ill (I comfort eat loads when I’m feeling ill!) but I need a little more self control and eat more healthily so I can recover quicker too!

Having a healthier lifestyle with regular exercise really does make you feel better. I notice that when I’m not exercising as much or eating as healthily, I don’t feel as happy as when I do all these things. When you start out your new exercise regime and healthy eating, you’ll probably feel rather tired to begin with, but it does get better!

Proactol

Your body starts getting used to going out to the gym or getting on that bike of yours, and you’ll soon get into good habits of reaching for a banana instead of a bagel or an apple instead of chocolate. You just need to get these foods into your kitchen, and cut down or cut out the sugary, fattening foods from your shopping list.

I’m trying not to worry about my weight too much and concentrate on keeping up the gym and healthy eating. I know that once I start getting into better habits again, and start exercising again, I’ll feel better and start seeing and feeling the results again!

Choosing the Best Dietary Supplement

choosing-the-best-dietary-supplement

When it comes to weight loss, everyone seeks the perfect solution. Natural dietary supplements are an option that offers an extra bonus to get into the diet and fitness routine. Specific herbs and organic, fiber-based extracts have the ability to speed up your metabolism, curb appetite, increase fat burning and boost energy.

However, with countless natural / herbal dietary supplements available in the market today, it’s really tough to figure out what will best suit your nutritional needs. From vitamins to minerals to weight loss pills, there are thousands of options to choose from. But do they really work, and if so, which one is the best? Let’s find out.

Definition of a dietary supplement: Any vitamin, fiber, mineral or nutrient that is ingested in addition to the nutrients already being derived from food and beverages alone is known as a dietary supplement.

The substances can be organic in nature or synthetic to function like their organic counterparts. Such substances organically found in many living things are thought to aid the body’s cells, as well as assist metabolism, growth, immunity, organ function, energy levels and weight management. Most importantly, dietary supplements are thought to protect the body from disease and promote overall prime health and well-being.

The recommended guidelines

Experts agree there are some rules of thumb for choosing dietary and nutritional supplements. The FDA’s new good manufacturing practices ruling ensure that dietary / food supplements:

  • Are produced in a quality manner
  • Do not contain contaminants or impurities
  • Are accurately labeled

In addition, you must also consider the following aspects while making your mind to choose one for yourself.

  • Look at the ingredients: A fiber supplement, for example, can be a good idea as it will fill you up quicker allowing you to eat less (acting as an appetite suppressant as well). It is also good for the digestive system, may lower cholesterol levels and will help you loose weight significantly.
  • Test for credibility: In this era of evidence-based medicine, you are supposed to consider evidences, pure facts and real testimonials, not claims. Accordingly, go for a dietary supplement that is clinically backed by a number of trials and studies and has been recommended by full-fledged health experts and doctors.
  • Go for quality: Supplements should be tested for potency and potential toxicity and backed up with the best research and science available. Also, a good manufacturing source is a key element in ensuring quality. So, look for trusted brands that have been around for some time to be sure what is on the label is safe and exactly what is found in the product.
  • Check for safety: Many times you hear “natural” and automatically think it is safe. However, make sure to do your research when planning to take any kind of natural dietary supplements. Read the authentic testimonials, and see if the product has been approved by some major international and credible authority on health. Ideally, it must have a high safety profile i.e. should show no side effects even after long term use. Similarly, user compliance and tolerance is another important issue to be considered while choosing the best suitable dietary supplement.
  • Look for additional health benefits: A natural dietary supplement that could eliminate excess body fat, lower cholesterol, and help suppress the appetite should definitely be at the top of your list.

All in all, choose a natural dietary supplement that has been proved to have no side effects from long term use and is a viable, 100% pure supplement to help you achieve a slimmer, healthier body. However, don’t forget that dietary supplements are designed to supplement your diet, not to replace nutritious foods.
