Bring on the Better Weather!

I don’t know about you, but just seeing the slightest bit of sunshine outside can make you feel so much more motivated to get out there and do something!

With all the snow, ice and freezing cold weather we had over the last few months, I’ve noticed that I’ve taken the bus instead of walking to work and to town, there’s been occations where I’ve not done as much as I could at the gym because I wanted to get home as soon as possible, I’ve not gone swimming in ages because of the cold when you get outside, and I haven’t gone out at the weekends as much to browse around neighbouring towns either. I’ve lived a very indoor life and my exercise has been hindered because of it!

But the sun has started to shine out there, and the days are getting milder and lighter. It’s definately an encouraging sign that spring is on it’s way, meaning lighter evenings, happier looking weather and more time outside for me!

I’m not one of those people who craves the sun and sunbathes at every chance, infact I’m the opposite! I’m a bit of an indoor person and rather pale

But now that the weathers cheering up, it’s cheering me up too! I feel a lot more motivated to walk to work and town, staying at the gym longer will be better as my husband and I will be walking back home in the light, coming out of swimming will be a bit warmer and going out to places will be much more pleasant!

I notice that my appetite changes quite a bit in the spring and summer too. I feel less hungry and I do far less comfort eating. When the weather is warm, I’m much more likely to eat more healthily as I don’t want to eat anything too sweet or I just fancy something cool and simple like salad or sandwiches, not burgers and chips!

I’m looking forward to a healthy spring!
